Brantley Gilbert originally moved to Nashville as a songwriter, signed to Warner Chappell Publishing. He continued performing at local venues. In 2009, he released his debut album, Modern Day Prodigal Son, under independent label Average Joes Entertainment. He followed with Halfway to Heaven in 2010.
In 1989, seventeen-year-old Mike O'Donnell (Zac Efron) learns during the start of his high school championship basketball game that his girlfriend Scarlet Porter (Allison Miller) is pregnant. Moments after the game begins, he leaves the game and goes after Scarlet, abandoning his hopes of going to college and becoming a professional basketball player.
In 2009, Mike (Matthew Perry), now thirty-seven years old, finds his life stalled. Scarlet (Leslie Mann), now his wife and mother of their two children, has separated from him due to his blaming her for his regrets about abandoning his future, forcing him to move in with his geeky, yet extremely wealthy, best friend since high school, Ned Gold (Thomas Lennon). At his job, we see another reason for his frustration: due to his lack of higher education and since he is significantly older than most of his co-workers, he is passed over for a promotion he deserves in favor of a much younger worker. He quits his job and his high school-age children, Maggie (Michelle Trachtenberg) and Alex (Sterling Knight) want nothing to do with him. Later, while visiting his high school to reminisce, an encounter with a mysterious janitor (Brian Doyle-Murray) transforms Mike back into his seventeen-year-old self.
"17 Again" is a song recorded by the British pop music duo Eurythmics. The song appears on the band's 1999 album, Peace, and was released as the second single from the album in the UK in early 2000.
Peace was the first new album released by Eurythmics in a decade and the lyrics to "17 Again" find the duo reminiscing about their long-standing career in pop music. The song mentions "fake celebrities", "vicious queens", "the stupid papers and the stupid magazines" and makes the conclusion that "sweet dreams are made of anything that gets you in the scene". The closing of "17 Again" contains an interpolation of 1983's "Sweet Dreams (Are Made of This)".
"17 Again" peaked at number twenty-seven on the UK Singles Chart. In the U.S., there was no single, but promotional-only remixes were issued for nightclubs. "17 Again" became the first Eurythmics song to hit number one on the Hot Dance Club Play chart.
The song was featured in a season four episode of the American television series Will & Grace ("Bed, Bath, & Beyond"). It was also featured in season two of the American television series, Charmed, in the episode titled "How to Make a Quilt Out of Americans".

LYRICS:
There ain't nothing like 'em first loves baby
Remember them high school days
Friday nights come n' dances
Givin' my old letterman's jacket away
To hold us a name
But now it's you and me talking on the phone til 4 AM
About anything and everything
Making me feel young again like ain't a damn thing changed
Ain't a damn thing changed
Makes me wanna sneak down your driveway
To climb out your window
Get in girl, we'll roll 'til the dirt road ends
You can climb up in that back seat
With your pretty little bare feet
Get the butterflies like we used to
Got our innocence
Just like we're 17 again
I thought them feelings was long gone baby
But you take me back in...

Just like spring break in Panama City
Girl from Indiana sure was pretty
But she ain't got nothin' on you tonight
Cause you're like the summer lovin' don't come or go
Never had to say goodbye
I wake up in the morning feeling like a first kiss
Every time your lips touch mine
Makes me wanna sneak down your driveway
To climb out your window
Get in girl, we'll roll 'til the dirt road ends
You can climb up in that back seat
With your pretty little bare feet
Get the butterflies like we used to

Just like we're 17 again
Lookin back I wish I could put you inside every memory
(Every memory)
You can be my first love
My first kiss
My first and last everything
Makes me wanna sneak down your driveway
And climb out your window
Get in girl, we'll roll 'til the dirt road ends
You can climb up in that back seat

Got our innocence

[Verse 1] Yeah, I worked all week. Cleaned up, clean cut, and clean shaved. Get the cover off the 68. Fire it up, and let them horses sing. A little pretty thing. A little tan-legged Georgia dream. Shes a rockin them holey jeans. Baby, what you got goin on Saturday? You know, words got it, theres gonna be a party, Out of town about half a mile. Four wheel drives and big mud tires. Muscadine wine [Chorus] Oh baby, you can find me. In the back of a Ford truck tailgate. Sittin round watchin all these pretty things. Gettin down in that Georgia clay. And Ill find peace. In the bottom of a real tall cold drink. *Chillin* to some Skynyrd or some old Hank. Lets get this thing started. Its my kind of party. [Verse 2] Girl, well if youre gonna drink. Go on baby, just do your thing. Give up your keys. Hell why drive when you can stay with me? And then after while well sneak away from the bonfire. Walk by the moonlight and down at the riverside. Gotcha sippin on the moonshine. Baby, if youre in mood you can settle for a one night rodeo. If you can be my tan-legged Juliet, Ill be your Redneck Romeo. [Repeat Chorus two times] Where yall goin?
