Turing machines explained visually
A Turing machine is a model of a machine which can mimic any other (known as a universal machine). What we call "computable" is whatever a Turing machine can write down. This video is about how it was conceived and why it works using physical explaination. Code Name: Enigma - The Cipher That Changed the Course of War
During World War II, the Germans used a device called Enigma to encrypt their secret messages. It was believed to be nearly impossible to crack because it generated billions of possible combinations each day. However, Alan Turing and his team managed to break this complex encryption system. Turing’s creation, a machine called the "Bombe," helped decode German messages, giving the Allies crucial insights into Nazi strategies and helping to win critical battles. This breakthrough is credited with shortening the war by about two years, saving millions of lives.
Even more, this achievement laid the groundwork for modern cryptography. But what if Turing and his team hadn’t cracked Enigma—would the war have ended differently?
