Halloween is quickly approaching, and the Winona community is ready to rock their costumes and celebrate this weekend with dozens of spooky events.
Haunted Walk
Those looking for a scare can head out to Saint Mary's University on Friday, Saturday or Sunday to participate in the university's annual haunted walk.
It is the first year that the university's Criminal Justice Club will host the walk, as, in the past, the fastpitch softball team would take the reins and spooked the community.
Attendees can expect a scaled-back event compared to previous years, with the walk also being entirely indoors beginning in the Toner Student Center.
Funds raised during the walk will help sponsor the Criminal Justice Club's events, educational trips and speakers.Â

The walk will be held from 7-9 p.m. Friday and Saturday and 2-5 p.m. Sunday.
Streets & Treats
Families looking for child-friendly events with a few less spooks and a lot more treats can head to downtown Winona from 1 to 4 p.m. Saturday for Streets & Treats.Â
The free community event, organized each year by the Winona Main Street Program, will entertain trick-or-treaters and their families with magic, a costume contest and more.
The candy will be available from 1-3 p.m. throughout multiple blocks of Third Street and on Second Street from Center to Lafayette streets, while trunk or treat will also take place at the same time at Edge Church.
The costume contest, judged by participants from the Great River Shakespeare Festival, will take place from 2-3 p.m.
During the costume contest, The Magic of Isaiah will be walking around doing magic before a 3:15 p.m. magic show at Peter's Biergarten, which is expected to run until 4 p.m. and is sponsored by Children's Dental of Winona.
