Accuse
[edit]
- The following is an archived discussion concerning one or more redirects. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made on an appropriate discussion page (such as the redirect's talk page or in a deletion review). No further edits should be made to this section.
- The result of the discussion was keep. Move Accusation to Accusation (disambiguation), and Draft:Accusation to mainspace. (non-admin closure) feminist (talk) 11:05, 14 April 2018 (UTC)
Am I mistaken, or shouldn't this target Blame? Steel1943 (talk) 22:53, 6 April 2018 (UTC)
- I have a better idea. Let's finish Draft:Accusation, and move it to mainspace in place of the current disambiguation page at this topic. bd2412 T 23:20, 6 April 2018 (UTC)
- Nominator comment: @BD2412: I'd say per Oiyarbepsy, just do it. Steel1943 (talk) 22:43, 7 April 2018 (UTC)
- It's not a question of boldness; I would like to promote a draft that isn't obvious fodder for deletion for having very little there. Right now it is a collection of block quotes. Perhaps you could improve it some? bd2412 T 22:45, 7 April 2018 (UTC)
- Call me interesting, but I'm not much of an article writer. I have over 95,000 edits, and I do about everything else on Wikipedia when I edit ... except write articles. Either way, per my quick view of the draft, it looks as though it would survive an AfD discussion in its current form, but maybe I'm even wrong about that. Steel1943 (talk) 23:08, 7 April 2018 (UTC)
- One option would be to move the draft to mainspace and then propose to merge false accusation into it. I'm not sure we would need separate articles on accusations and false accusations. bd2412 T 18:52, 8 April 2018 (UTC)

- Promote draft now and keep redirect. Sure, the draft isn't finished, but neither is anything else here. The draft is ready for article space as is, so let's do it. Oiyarbepsy (talk) 18:39, 7 April 2018 (UTC)
- I suppose that is not the worst thing that could happen. I would still like to see the draft substantially improved. bd2412 T 20:09, 7 April 2018 (UTC)

- List of programs shown on Myx TV → Myx TV (talk · links · history · stats) [ Closure: keep/retarget/delete ]
A redirect a history of which includes listcruft and wp:promo. Has recently been restored from a redirect to an article by an IP with a likely COI. Nothing usable in the article history and no incoming links, so might as well delete. K.e.coffman (talk) 00:59, 15 March 2018 (UTC)
- Weak keep and semiprotect to discourage repeat creation. While there is no list of programs in Myx TV there is a section on programming, so it's not entirely inaccurate. Ivanvector (Talk/Edits) 13:27, 15 March 2018 (UTC)
- Delete - Nothing useful in the history, No one ever searches for this specific title so no need to keep. –Davey2010Talk 19:22, 19 March 2018 (UTC)
- I'm also including the reply below as part of my Delete !vote - "Readers who search for this title would obviously end up at Myx TV where they would (quite rightly) expect to see a programme list .... So again this title is only giving readers false hope (in assuming a programme list is there when it's not) .... so in that sense it only serves as a useless redirect, If there's no programme list on that target article then what is the point of this redirect ? ..... There isn't one", –Davey2010Talk 17:38, 6 April 2018 (UTC)
- Delete per Davey2010. Nothing useful about this redirect. We should avoid having lists of programs redirecting to other articles. Ajf773 (talk) 10:32, 24 March 2018 (UTC)
- Sorry but Keep — we've trained users to expect lists like this, so it's a fair search term. May not be tons of help at the target, but it will be of some use (and there likely should/could be more). ~ Amory (u • t • c) 10:43, 24 March 2018 (UTC)
- we've trained users to expect lists like this - I disagree - Not every channel on this project has a programme list so I disagree readers aren't trained to expect this, The majority of readers would (or should) go to the article first, The other issue with this redirect is that readers who search for this title would obviously end up at Myx TV where they would (quite rightly) expect to see a programme list .... So again this title is only giving readers false hope (in assuming a programme list is there when it's not) .... so in that sense it only serves as a useless redirect, If there's no programme list on that target article then what is the point of this redirect ? ..... Not in target article. Lordtobi (✉) 09:20, 29 March 2018 (UTC)
Delete alleditor software for the ZZT video game, but it is not mentioned in the article. AngusWOOF (bark • sniff) 16:29, 29 March 2018 (UTC) updated 19:11, 11 April 2018 (UTC)
- Keep These are all quite old, and it seems the main article for each was at some point merged into the target. I'm inclined to keep as these could be linked externally and aren't hurting the project. More to the point, the only reason they're not mentioned in the article is because you removed them in January, blanking the section as "nonnotable." These are still very much alive. ~ Amory (u • t • c) 10:51, 6 April 2018 (UTC)

- Keep all per Amorymeltzer. In addition, ZZTAE and KevEdit have substantive page histories, and the other two redirects are simply alternative capitalizations. —Compassionate727 (T·C) 19:25, 6 April 2018 (UTC)
- Bleh, I got fooled by the delete. Are you able to add a paragraph back about popular editors as with Anonymizer#Examples. It would have to be reliably sourced first. You can use this book by Chris Kohler [1] to save "KevEdit" . Not sure about ZZTae though. AngusWOOF (bark • sniff) 19:04, 11 April 2018 (UTC)

An ancient redirect, not eligible for CSD R3. My Google search indicates no results for this title, and the show was never named this. Absolutely no reason to have this, I suspect it was created as a joke. —Compassionate727 (T·C) 14:43, 6 April 2018 (UTC)
- Delete per Compassionate727 - Only result for this search term is the redirect target ..... Not sure if joke or what however the fact this is the only result indicates it's a hoax. –Davey2010Talk 17:40, 6 April 2018 (UTC)

Unlikely search term. Lordtobi (✉) 10:12, 20 March 2018 (UTC)
- Keep this is mainly used on Linux operating systems, especially when it was created by Linus Torvald. AngusWOOF (bark • sniff) 16:41, 20 March 2018 (UTC)
- "This is mainly used on Linux" How so? I, at least, use it on Windows, and so do a couple other million users. While Linux sure is a viable platform for Git, the software is not restritcted to that OS. And Linus Torvalds also created the Linux kernel, so should we have a redirect "Git (Linux kernel)" as well? Inheritance is not at play here... Lordtobi (✉) 17:20, 20 March 2018 (UTC)
- From the article: "Git is primarily developed on Linux, although it also supports most major operating systems including BSD, Solaris, macOS, and Windows." But no, do not make dabs for all the platform variants. Keeping (linux) is good enough and there is Git (software) AngusWOOF (bark • sniff) 18:32, 20 March 2018 (UTC)

- The result of the discussion was retarget to Template:ALB. Regarding Brazil, that another such redirect wouldn't work need not prevent this from helping. ~ Amory (u • t • c) 17:51, 13 April 2018 (UTC)
- Template:Alb → Template:WikiProject Albums (talk · links · history · stats) [ Closure: keep/retarget/delete ]
I'm not sure what's so hard about typing "um" that this shortcut was necessary to redirect to {{WikiProject Albums}} as {{Album}} already exists and does the same thing, but Template:ALB already exists as ALB is the 3-letter alpha code for Albania. This is not a known abbreviation for albums. StarcheerspeaksnewslostwarsTalk to me 23:08, 22 March 2018 (UTC)
- Keep - "Alb" are the first three letters in the word "album". This RfD is extremely similar to the 2013 RfD about Template:Cop and the 2014 RfD about Template:wprk, which I am incorporating by reference for the sake of brevity. There are several templates like this, such as {{Tb}} which is not about tuburculosis, {{pot}} which is not about cannabis, {{hat}} which is not about headwear, etc. WP:R#D8 does not apply as this is not an article space redirect. WP:R#D2 does not apply as confusion is less likely to occur in other name spaces.
- "Unless a WikiProject [or anyone else, for that matter] has actually expressed interest in usurping [these redirects], I don't see [them] doing any harm." To date, no other use for {{alb}} has been suggested at all. Per WP:R#KEEP, "If someone says they find a redirect useful, they probably do".
- "Alleged confusion is not very plausible at all. So absent evidence of any harm there is no reason to delete."
- "There seems to be no evidence of confusion, just conjecture on the part of nominator, and no argument grounded in WP:R. Laziness is the exact purpose of redirects, to be perfectly honest, and the creator of a useful redirect that saves one or two characters should be commended. We don't delete redirects based merely on conjecture. Someone obviously found these useful given they were created."
- "One of the lowest things one can do is steal another mans tools. So you have no use for it. That it's being used is good enough, and there is zero reason to take away something that has no higher use. Such Nominators should be required to be the one to hand edit and remove any deleted tags."
- "Redirects are not only cheap but this is a redirect from and to template namespace. That would tend to indicate to me that anyone using it is an editor rather than a general reader and they are hardly likely to get it confused
with cop. There are lots of little abbreviated things pulled up over the years such as{{tlc}}
or{{tlx}}
or whatever as useful shorthand for editors."
--Jax 0677 (talk) 13:54, 23 March 2018 (UTC)
- This is just a copy and paste answer this editor has used over and over and over again and doesn't address the concern of the nomination: the fact that Template:ALB already exists. --StarcheerspeaksnewslostwarsTalk to me 15:24, 23 March 2018 (UTC)
- Delete or retarget to Template:ALB per nom. Attempting to distinguish templates per WP:DIFFCAPS, IMO, doesn't work. Steel1943 (talk) 14:56, 23 March 2018 (UTC)
*Delete - I don't understand the logic behind the creation .... Ofcourse we have WP:ANI, WP:RFC, WP:BLP which were all created for convenience and easy linking ..... I fail to understand how typing "Alb" over "album" is easy or convenient ? .... It's just lazyness and for what .... all the sake of 2 letters ..... Delete. –Davey2010Talk 15:12, 23 March 2018 (UTC)
- Retarget - Apparently I missed the first retarget above - Easy retarget tbh. –Davey2010Talk 22:24, 6 April 2018 (UTC)
- Retarget to Template:ALB, especially since country abbreviations are often done in lowercase. It's not hard to type {{album}} instead. Oiyarbepsy (talk) 02:48, 24 March 2018 (UTC)

Relisting comment: Delete or retarget?
Please add new comments below this notice. Thanks, ~ Amory (u • t • c) 10:53, 6 April 2018 (UTC)
- Retarget to Template:ALB. Typing "template:alb", the name of that template in lowercase, will search for the page "Template:Alb", which is the redirect that we are currently discussing. The lowercase version of a page should, at least in my opinion, almost always redirect to the proper casing. —Compassionate727 (T·C) 14:48, 6 April 2018 (UTC)
- Retarget to Template:ALB. No sense in having different capitalizations going to different places here. Plantdrew (talk) 15:56, 6 April 2018 (UTC)
- Oppose redirect to Template:ALB. Creating redirects so that country codes are not case sensitive wouldn't work for all countries (for example, Brazil). Peter James (talk) 15:07, 10 April 2018 (UTC)

- Golden Warrior → Issyk kurgan (talk · links · history · stats) [ Closure: keep/retarget/delete ]
Should be a disambiguation page. Although the term is indeed used to refer to the Issyk kurgan, there are plenty of other uses for "Golden Warrior", namely: the anime series Golden Warrior Gold Lightan; the Golden Warrior Monument; the video game Golden Axe Warrior; the US Navy squadron VFA-87 (the "Golden Warriors"); the Golden State Warriors basketball team; among others. It doesn't appear that the Issyk kurgan is very well known, or that it is the main topic for "Golden Warrior" for that matter. — Preceding unsigned comment added by SpursySituation (talk • contribs) 09:55, 6 April 2018 (UTC)
