The Scholarly Societies Project.

[edit]

In response to your recent messages and edits - I suggest that you do a Wikipedia search on "Scholarly Societies Project" to get some idea of how many Wikipedia articles currently cite this Project. Many of these citations come from Wikipedia articles devoted to individual scholarly societies. These citations are the work of many hands - not my own. Jim Parrott, Editor, the Scholarly Societies Project. JimParrottWaterloo (talk) 12:38, 28 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Adding them yourself though is very clear a conflict of interest. 10mmsocket (talk) 18:01, 28 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you for your messages - I have learned from them. What about the three Wikipedia articles that already had references to the Scholarly Societies Project in them - these references were created as long ago as 2010, 2012 and 2018 - and I was updating the links. Are you prepared to restore my edits? Furthermore, by my count, there are references to the Scholarly Societies Project in about 80 other Wikipedia articles; am I permitted to update the links in those articles - or do I have to try to identify the Editors who originally made those references, and then ask them to update the information themselves? This would assume, of course, that the Editors in question are still alive. Thank you for your guidance. Jim Parrott. JimParrottWaterloo (talk) 21:28, 28 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Updating the existing links plus restoring the ones I deleted seems entirely reasonable. Just be careful about adding more. It's probably worth declaring your association with the site on your user page. 10mmsocket (talk) 22:15, 28 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]
