Herbert Bradley (1888 – 21 June 1918) was an English professional footballer who played as an outside left in the Football League for Bury, Notts County and Preston North End.[1]
Personal life
[edit]Bradley served as a gunner in the Royal Garrison Artillery during the First World War.[4] On 5 April 1918, while acting as a forward artillery observer, he was taken prisoner by German forces and taken to Limburg an der Lahn prisoner of war camp.[4][5] He died of dysentery in the camp on 21 June 1918 and was buried in Avesnes-sur-Helpe Communal Cemetery, France.[3][4]
