Hong Kil Dong is the male protagonist in the White Epic series. He is a young Ascetic who is travelling through the land trying to purge it of man-eating monsters.

Hong Kil Dong is a passionate man who has a strong sense of justice, it could be seen when he became extremely angry upon hearing the monster Oollaga eating 20,000 young children, wanting to exorcise the monster with a spell that would make it rejected by even hell.
He is also shown to be kind even towards monsters who have sinned.This can be seen when he allowed the toad monster who could rival his master to live despite the fact that he ate humans upon hearing its willingness to repent.
Hong Kil Dong is also shown to care a lot about his friends

When Hong Kil Dong was a child, his parents were killed by the monsters. He was later adopted and was trained by several of his masters.
