Christmas Tree Lighting

Christmas is coming to Melbourne! Join the celebrations as we officially open the 2024 City of Melbourne Christmas Festival.

Enjoy merry performances before the countdown to the lighting of the giant 17.5m Christmas Tree.

6.30pm: Festivities commence with free face painting, roving entertainment and DJ set
7.10pm: Consort of Melbourne choir performance
7.30pm: DJ set
8pm: The Huxleys roving performance
8.10pm: Consort of Melbourne choir performance
8.30pm: Official proceedings commence
8:50pm: Lumiere from Beauty and the Beast the Musical performance
9pm: The Christmas Tree lights up!

This is a Christmas Festival event, presented by City of Melbourne in partnership with Fed Square and supported by Beauty and the Beast the Musical. Once again, Christmas Square lights up with 100% wind powered Christmas cheer.
