Brittany & Tim
Whimsical Airy Spring Pastels in the Adirondacks
Brittany & Tim live around the corner from West Lane’s original location in Winooski. They enjoyed walking by our gardens and picked up flowers and dahlia tubers. Brittany has a serious eye for design, especially tablescapes. Tim is a brewer, and therefore knows his botanicals. We delighted in their unique vision. Long banquet tables full of delicate bud vases, pin frog dishes, and slate blue taper candles created an elegant, airy scene.
Brittany shared that lilac was her favorite scent, so we hoped that lilacs might still be available, even though they’re really a May flower. Luckily, we have some established late season lilacs on the North side of our home. It was the perfect microclimate. Attendants carried simple, heavenly perfumed bouquets of lilacs and sweet peas.
For the ceremony, we sourced a mixture of June-flowering perennials, native shrubs, and annual plants to form the base of the design. Brittany & Tim planted these at their home garden after the wedding. A stand arrangement held more delicate flowers in water, and hardier things like giant alliums appear to grow out of the ground. After the ceremony, the plants were moved to the cocktail hour and the reception.
