WOLCOTT: Eleanor Stevenson, age 92, passed away Wednesday, August 21, 2024, at the Newark Manor.
Friends and family are invited to a graveside service, Wednesday, September 4 at 11 AM in the Huron Evergreen Cemetery.
Eleanor was born February 21, 1932 in Huron, the daughter of the late Henry and Maude (Lapp) Shortsleeve. She was a graduate of Leavenworth High school. She and her husband Stanley were hot air balloon enthusiast. They traveled to France, Spain, Japan and China where they rode in their balloon. Eleanor was the number one “Bully Wumpus Chaser” Their balloon was once featured on the cover of the Readers Digest. Eleanor was a cancer survivor, she enjoyed going for rides in the car and milkshakes with two straws.
She is survived by her children Deborah (Steve) O’Connell, LuAnn Robinson, Rebecca (Charles) Livingston, Carolyn (Banjo) Smith and Ken Stevenson; a sister Henrietta Trine; several grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins.
Eleanor is preceded in death by her husband Stanley.
The Stevenson family would like to take this opportunity to thank all the staff at the Newark Manor for the unconditional love and respect they showed to their mom while she was there.
