Ameritas is a Nebraska-based company that focuses on insurance, employee benefits, retirement plan and financial services. They have over 2500 employees nationwide that cater to a range of clients and families alike.
We spoke with Stacy Grof, Digital Marketing Specialist and Kimberly Barrett, Wellbeing Consultant, who have both been with Ameritas for a total of 33 years. The company has been using Visme for the past four years and hasn’t looked back. We sat down to talk about how their departments fully use Visme to streamline their marketing and client-related projects.

Ameritas employees have the flexibility to create projects without relying too heavily on creative staff in the team. This allowed subject matter experts on their team to plan, design and execute projects or help customers faster and more efficiently, improving the teams overall workflow.
For example, they could quickly convert graphics to HTML code without needing a developer or designer, which allowed them to execute projects faster. They would also use designs published as HTML codes in Visme to embed them in presentations and interactive content within our websites and company intranet.
Since the insurance industry comes with a lot of information, regulations and compliance when presented merely as text, this can overwhelm customers. To combat this, the need to add visuals or data visualization can help readers understand and retain information.
One of the reasons Stacy and her team were amazed at Visme’s design capabilities and options, allowing them to go above and beyond with projects they wanted to bring to life. Taking essential information and turning it into interactive content which provides for better customer experience.

Two time-saving features Stacy and her team have relied on most frequently were update features and built-in analytics.

They rely on sending links of their project rather than hard copies, as it allows them to make real-time changes, visible to all- based on audience questions or feedback.
“I love the flexibility Visme has to make changes on the fly and have real-time updates for anyone viewing with the link. We collaborated with other groups, created a newsletter early, and made last-minute changes to an event. We can update the main site published through Visme and not send an updated document,” Kimberly Barrett shares.
“The great thing about Visme is that it’s instant, you make an update, and it’s live, and it’s updated everywhere! That’s one of my favorite features of the tool.”
In the insurance space, regulation and compliance updates happen very often, so it’s essential that Ameritas keeps all its documents and content up to date. With Visme’s instant updates and dynamic fields, their team can make quick adjustments and changes to ensure their customers are always informed, avoid any legal issues and keep content relevant to the latest changes.
Once projects are shared, they can use analytics to view the data and track the performance of current projects to make informed decisions when creating future content. This allowed them to learn what was effective and what needed to be fine-tuned.
Visme is such an integral part of Ameritas that it has two groups of Visme users, regular users and super users. Each month both users meet for a group session where they share tips, tricks, and projects such as presentations to help each user deepen their product knowledge of Visme.
“ We get to spend our time being creative in our programming- bringing in the “fun factor” into what we do - such as bold presentations with music, animation and voice-over in a fraction of the time it would normally take.” Kimberly Barrett adds.
