More grim revelations as Israel keeps its word to retrieve Israelis dead or alive and as it prepares operation in Rafah where living hostages are believed to be held.
On May 24, 2024, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) announced the recovery of more bodies of Israeli hostages from Gaza, including three individuals recovered from northern Gaza’s Jabaliya. This recent recovery adds to the somber toll of hostages previously found earlier this week. The newly recovered hostages were Orión Hernández Radoux, 30, Hanan Yablonka, 42, and Michel Nisenbaum, 59, who were kidnapped near Mefalsim and killed on October 7, 2023.
The IDF spokesperson stated, “These individuals were abducted from the Mefalsim area and murdered during the initial Hamas onslaught.” The operation to retrieve their bodies was a joint effort between the IDF and the Shin Bet security agency, leveraging precise intelligence gathered in recent days.
Radoux, a Mexican-French national, was the boyfriend of Shani Louk, one of the four hostages whose bodies were found in Jabaliya last week. Yablonka, Radoux, and Louk, along with the other hostages, had fled to the Mefalsim area when they were abducted by Hamas terrorists. Nisenbaum, from Sderot, was kidnapped while on his way to collect his granddaughter from the IDF’s Gaza Division base near Re’im.
This grim news coincides with a renewed push to restart hostage-ceasefire negotiations. CIA Director Bill Burns has arrived in the region, signaling significant diplomatic efforts to mediate and facilitate talks. Despite the ongoing military operations, the Israeli War Cabinet has approved further negotiations aimed at securing the release of remaining hostages.
Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu expressed his grief and determination: “We will return all our hostages, the dead and the alive alike. Our hearts are with the grieving families”.
Families of the recovered hostages, while devastated by the loss, have found some closure. Nissim Louk, father of Shani Louk, stated, “It is a relief to get the body back, and we are now able to bury her close by. It gives us some kind of closure”
Why is it taking so long for you to eliminate these terrorists? They are trapped in a small area; just go in and destroy them out already
I can no longer believe any hostages are still alive. Don’t stop until all bodies are recovered and Hamas surrenders or is destroyed.
We stayed in control of Japan over 20 years after the war and still have bases there even though we are now friends.
Should have done the same with Afghanistan. Please keep control of Gaza to ensure longterm peace for Arabs living there.
