Here's your round-up of all the latest Swansea City new for Monday, December 23.

No excuses for Hull defeat, says Grimes

Swansea City captain Matt Grimes admits the defeat to Hull City was inexcusable, and says they must bounce back over the festive period.

The Swans produced arguably their poorest performance of the season in what was a horrifically lacklustre 2-1 defeat at the hands of the Tigers at the MKM Stadium on Saturday, and Grimes says there cannot be any repeat when they take on QPR and Luton Town over the coming days.

“We were not good enough, it’s as simple as that,” Grimes said when quizzed on the defeat.

“Our intensity dropped way below the levels it has been at, there are no excuses for it and we have to take responsibility for that.

“We deserved to lose, we were sloppy and their chances were coming from our mistakes.

“There were actions where we gave the ball away in areas where we did not need to. We were not clean enough.

“We let the supporters down, it’s such a long way to come anyway, and then you throw in it being a 12.30pm kick-off and we just have not performed to the levels we have shown for much of the season.

“We now have to make sure we recover and get ourselves ready for Boxing Day, we have two home games to close out the year and we know we will need to do a lot better.”

Williams working to muster up response

Luke Williams says he will continue to pick the bones of Swansea City's wretched defeat at the hands of Hull City, and attempt to mastermind a response when his side host Queens Park Rangers on Boxing Day.

The Swans are in need of a reaction following what was a desperately poor performance in East Yorkshire, and Williams says he'll continue to search for answers as he bids to ensure his team return to winning ways.

"If you think as a head coach that your team is never going to lose a couple of games, you are in the wrong industry," he said.

"I have to continue to try to get to the bottom of the weak performance [at Hull] and try to prepare for the next game. We will try to make a better performance in that one.

"We have to prepare the best we can and I need to try to select the right line-up to go into that game."

Dabrowski excited by future

Swansea City academy product Sebastian Dabrowski says he's excited by his future at Swansea City after penning a new deal with the club.

The Polish-born defender has signed a deal keeping him at the club until 2027, with the option of another year, and the 19-year-old is thrilled to have committed his future to the club.

"I'm excited to have signed a new deal. I signed my pro deal nearly two years ago, but now I have more security on being here," he said..

"I'm grateful to have earned more time at this club I've been at since I was so young, and to make my first-team debut is the dream.

"I've had that exposure within the first-team environment over the past couple of years, and it's given me the motivation to want more."
