Ruud van Nistelrooy next job verdict emerges with three new options assessed after Man United exit
Ruud van Nistelrooy's departure from Manchester United has left many to question what comes next for the legendary former striker.
It felt inevitable that the Dutchman would be in charge on an interim basis at some point this season. Erik ten Hag was under intense pressure going into the 2024/25 campaign and after the Reds poor start, Ten Hag was sacked with Van Nistelrooy taking over on an interim basis.
United were unbeaten during his four-game spell in charge with two wins over Leicester City, a victory over PAOK and a draw against Chelsea. But the keys to Old Trafford on a permanent basis have been handed to Ruben Amorim who will be tasked with reviving the Reds after a decade of struggle since Sir Alex Ferguson's retirement and United's last Premier League title in 2013.

So what next for an Van Nistelrooy? Below, three potential options in the Premier League have been assessed...
West Ham
The Hammers have got off to a poor start under Julen Lopetegui with just three wins so far. West Ham could be an interesting option for Van Nistelrooy if they decided to make a change having won the Europa Conference League last year.
Going to a club who have recently won a European trophy would give him the opportunity to perhaps showcase his work across the continent and get a bigger job in the future.
Everton
With Everton again flirting with relegation, the club's owners may start to panic ahead of their move into a new multi-million pound stadium next season. Sean Dyche is a safe pair of hands but how long will the Toffees' patience last if the threat of Championship football looms?
Everton is a huge club who should be doing better than battling relegation season after season. With financial backing and patience, Van Nistelrooy may be tempted.
Crystal Palace
It's taken many people by surprise to see Palace struggling so badly after a strong end to last season. The loss of Michael Olise to Bayern Munich appears to have had a bigger impact than first realised.
Van Nistelrooy may want more assurances over the future of Eberechi Eze if he were to be offered the job, but there is plenty of potential in Palace's squad to be a top half Premier League team.
