Bolton manager Ian Evatt was pleased with the clean sheet his team secured in the 0-0 draw against Wycombe.

It was only the club’s fifth in 27 games in all competitions this season, and their first in two months.

For the Chairboys, the point has kept them top of the table.

Additionally, the stalemate means Wycombe have now kept seven clean sheets against Bolton in nine meetings.

The draw is also the first between the two sides since their first meeting in August 2019.

He said: “My players gave me absolutely everything as they [Wycombe] are a very tough team to play against.

“They are very difficult – they have not changed much from Gaz [Gareth Ainsworth] although there is a bit more football, but still very physical, athletic and direct.

“They were strong at set plays and in transition but with the bodies that we have got out, the way we defended our box as a team I thought was magnificent.

“We’ve come here and kept a clean sheet against a team that score a lot of goals and I’m proud of the players.”
