Police not investigating three-year-old found shivering alone in heavy rain
Police say that they are not investigating an incident where a young girl was spotted shivering alone in a T-shirt and shorts in Sholing on New Year's Day.
The child - who Hampshire police confirmed was three years old - was spotted by a man walking his family dog at Veracity Recreational Ground on Merryoak Road.
She was stood in the heavy rain in just a T-shirt and shorts, shivering in six-degree weather at the muddy recreational ground.
Officers reunited her with her family on the same day, but have now said that 'no crimes have been identified' in the incident.

It is believed that the girl was given a fresh set of clothes by a local family, and police confirmed that they were called to Merryoak Road at 11.35am.
“Regardless of how she got there, it was a good deed to give her clothes and get her to the police,” said a 72-year-old walking his dog.
“What a fantastic thing to do, to help someone clearly so vulnerable,” another dog walker said, who had seen 'commotion' on Facebook on January 1.
