Description:

Everything leaders and teams do relies on working well with others, and high-performing teams and organizations are comprised of people who interact productively even in the face of challenges.

This intensive experiential workshop provides UW managers, directors, and other executives with a practical framework and proven tools for building a culture steeped in collaboration, ownership, and initiative.

The Core Strengths approach shows leaders how to understand their own motivations and make the connection between the motivations and behaviors of others. In addition, Core Strengths introduces a powerful “collaboration vocabulary” and helps participants build their Relationship Intelligence in order to craft more effective and productive relationships with staff members, colleagues, and stakeholders.

Participants take the Strength Deployment Inventory (SDI) and their results are then contextualized within a Motivational Value System. All results are shared in class and referenced in activities in order to explore the complex reasons that people do the things they do. With this knowledge, participants learn to deploy different strengths in working with others and dealing with conflict on their teams. Participants will also complete an Action Planner for getting better results through relationships.

To support their learning, participants receive an online personal results reports and guest access to LearnerSource online resources.

NOTE: Due to assessment and materials fees incurred by POD, cancellations must be made by the registration cutoff date or you will be charged the full class fee. You will receive an email with instructions for taking the online SDI assessment prior to class.

Level 2 of the Strategic Leadership Program is designed for UW managers, directors, and other executives.
