What's the Word: Inclusivity in Language (Q1780)

Live online session

Class content will be delivered via live Zoom session(s) with supplemental materials.

Description:

Inclusive language acknowledges, accepts and celebrates differences. Through this intentionality, we can help change our own and others’ attitudes and positively impact our workplace culture for systemically underrepresented groups.

In this course, participants will examine how grammatical conventions have evolved and continue to change over time, and discover the value of inclusive language. Participants will also learn why avoiding gendered and biased language is important in fostering inclusivity in the workplace and have opportunities to practice inclusive writing.

Instructors: Caitlin Brief & Catherine Kinyua
