De-Escalation Skills for the Workplace (Q1650)

Live online session

Class content will be delivered via live Zoom session(s) with supplemental materials.

Description:

How well do you handle conflict at work? Why do you react to criticism the way you do? And how do other people experience you in a crisis situation? Being able to identify an escalating situation is the first step in de-escalating the situation and salvaging the relationship—whether it be with a boss, coworker, or customer.

In this course, participants examine their own verbal and non-verbal communication styles: body language, eye contact, ethnic culture, gender, traumatic experiences, family culture, etc. In doing so, they learn to quickly identify when a conversation is going sideways, both for themselves and for the person they’re engaging with.
