Description:
The University is comprised of thousands of individuals with numerous distinct characteristics, including differences in age, gender, and ethnicity. This course is designed to help individuals address the interpersonal issues that can arise from such differences. Participants explore the isms that can bias communication and work together to examine various perspectives that can enhance communication across cultures. The instructors offer participants opportunities to ask candid questions in a nonjudgmental environment and to practice tackling sensitive topics in a positive and productive way. Finally, participants are encouraged to draw upon the tools and methods explored in this class to develop an action plan for increased cultural competency and future success.
