Through presentation, discussion, and small group activity, participants explore the impact of an effective job description on the selection and hiring process, identifying critical success factors for open positions, creating a selection committee, planning and conducting a behavioral interview, and developing an effective ranking system. In addition, the content covers ways to make each step of the hiring process more inclusive and accessible through equity-focused and bias-mitigating best practices.

NOTE: UW Hiring Processes: An Introduction addresses staff hiring processes for classified and professional staff positions and was created through the lens of the Total Talent Management recruitment team with a focus on UWHIRES.
