Passenger arrested at Delhi airport for carrying bullet in luggage

CISF officials at Delhi's IGI Airport detained a Mumbai-bound traveler for possessing a 5.56 mm bullet in his baggage without proper authorization. The incident occurred during security checks, resulting in the passenger being removed from his Indigo flight and handed over to Delhi Police for further investigation.

NEW DELHI: Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) officials on Wednesday arrested a passenger for carrying a bullet in his luggage at the Delhi airport. He was scheduled to board an Indigo flight to Mumbai but was removed from the plane.
The CISF personnel stopped him during security checks at the Indira Gandhi International (IGI) Airport's terminal-III around 7 am.
The passenger was unable to provide any legitimate authorization for possessing the 5.56 mm calibre bullet, and was turned over to the Delhi Police.
