Thanjavur police arrest 4, seize 130kg ganja

Thanjavur: Police arrested four men and seized 130kg of ganja worth 25 lakh in Thanjavur on Friday night.
Based on a tip-off, Thanjavur east police intercepted two cars on Palli Agraharam Road. Police said both cars had similar registration numbers. They examined the cars and found a total of 65 bundles of ganja in a hidden compartment under the rear seat of both cars.
Police arrested four occupants of the cars: A Ravichandran, 44, from Arappalayam in Madurai; A Subramani, 45, from Koodal Nagar in Madurai; B David Fernando, 30, from Mimisal in Pudukkottai district; K Ayyappan, 29, from Arasu Nagaripattinam in Pudukkottai district.
Police said the arrested men smuggled ganja from Andhra Pradesh for distribution in Tamil Nadu. Police also seized five mobile phones from them.
