LUCKNOW: Chief minister Yogi Adityanath paid tribute to Guru Nanak on his 555th birth anniversary on Friday, speaking about his devotion to God and his way of righteous living. He said that Guru Nanak’s teachings evolved into a powerful tradition under Guru Gobind Singh Maharaj, whose sacrifices, along with those of his four Sahibzadas, fill every Indian with pride.
In Lucknow to participate in a programme to commemorate Guru Nanak’s birth anniversary, the CM said that a society rooted in its heritage and ideals could never be enslaved. The CM also reminded the audience that the 550th birth anniversary, celebrated as Prakash Parv, saw a Kirtan Yatra being organised at the CM’s residence, which, he said, was a day of great fortune.
“Guru Nanak’s teachings evolved into a powerful tradition under Guru Gobind Singh Maharaj. His sacrifices and those of his sons at the hands of the Mughals are an inspiration for all of us. Since the past four years, December 26 is being celebrated as Veer Bal Diwas to honour the bravery of Guru Gobind Singh Ji’s four Sahibzadas, a tradition declared nationwide by Prime Minister Narendra Modi,” he said.
Celebrating this day, the CM said, would inspire today’s youth to connect with their heritage and spiritual values. The CM extended his best wishes to the people of UP on Prakash Parv, urging everyone to honour Guru Nanak Dev Ji by following his teachings and working for the welfare of society and the nation.
