Kozhikode: The vicar of St Joseph's Church, Neduvaloor, which had provided land on lease to T V Prashanthan for setting up a petrol pump, has said that Prasahantan had told him that the ADM, Naveen Babu, was an upright person who cannot be influenced in any manner.
"He had been telling me that the ADM was an official who was known for doing things diligently and he could not be approached through any other means," church vicar Fr Paul Edathinakath said.
The remarks made by the vicar contradicts the allegations levelled by Prashanthan that the ADM had taken bribe from him for providing NOC for the petrol pump.
The church had in Sept 2023 entered into an agreement with Prashanthan to provide on lease 40 cents of land belonging to the church for setting up the petrol pump. The payment of rent was to commence only when the construction works of the petrol pump started at the site.
Kannur district Congress committee president Martin George said that the statement by the church vicar shows yet again that the allegations levelled by Prashanthan were false.
