BAGALKOT: DC KM Janaki's singing 'Deepadinda Deepava...' (a song on spreading light) at a recent event has earned praise from the public, much like her previous song 'Ide naadu, ide bhashe...' at another public event. Some people have also put the latest clip, shot during the National Ayurveda Day event held at the ZP hall, as their WhatsApp status.
"Ayurveda doctors gave me the lyrics, which I liked and sang too. It's all about spreading light around," she said, adding Kalappa, a music teacher at Govt Primary School at Mallipatna in Hassan district, drawn her to music. After singing during school days, she went on to clear classical junior exam in 2005-06.
Singing patriotic songs and reading books are her favourite pastimes.
Social activist Ghanashyam Bhandage said many people are exchanging Deepavali greetings along with the DC's song clip.
