NEW DELHI: Former deputy chief minister
Manish Sisodia has written to all relevant departments asking for development work to be started in his constituency of Patparganj.
A local court on Thursday granted permission to Sisodia, who is the Patparganj MLA but now arrested in connection with the alleged Delhi excise policy scandal, to sign necessary documents to support the allocation of funds for development work in his constituency.
"Under the Chief Minister's Road Reconstruction Scheme, he has requested the urban development minister for the reconstruction of all damaged roads in Tarang, Priyadarshani Apartments and AMS Apartments in Patparganj," the MLA's office said.
He has also asked for the laying of new pipelines and streets in Mandawali, Chandar Vihar, Fazalpur Extension, School Block, Unchepar and West Vinod Nagar D-Block.
In his letter to the relevant departments, Sisodia wrote that the roads and pipelines in the colonies were in poor condition and get submerged during the rains. The roads are uneven and there are no drainage pipelines for rainwater in the entire colony, he wrote. DJB has completed the work of laying sewer and water supply lines. Most of the RWAs are in contact with his office for the construction of roads and pipelines, Sisodia added in the letter.
"Therefore, the development work in these colonies should be completed immediately... so that the problems of the residents in the area can be reduced," his office said.
