TAIPEI (Taiwan News) — Qian Li, a Chinese spouse and Asus employee whose family-based residency permit was revoked, has left the country, the National Immigration Agency confirmed Friday.
The agency said that future entry applications would be reviewed in accordance with her stated purpose and the relevant regulations, per CNA. She had previously lost her Taiwan ID and household registration for running a PLA-themed social media page that advocated a military takeover.
The agency informed her on Monday that her family-dependent residency permit was revoked. Qian responded online that she would pursue administrative remedies.
However, Qian again posted on social media on Tuesday, calling for “giving the Chinese Communist Party a chance to govern Taiwan.” The Mainland Affairs Council said Wednesday it respects the agency's authority over her permitted length of stay.
In a written response on Friday, the agency said she had already voluntarily booked a flight for China. Qian reportedly left the country on Wednesday, per SET News.
