The Gods Have Smiled Upon Me is the third episode of Survivor South Africa: Island of Secrets.

Story

Day 6

Tania was sent by Sa'ula to the Island of Secrets. Upon arriving, she was given the choice to either attend Ta'alo's Tribal Council the following day, or stay on the island and join another tribe at the impending switch.

Challenges

Reward/Immunity Challenge: Mud Slide
Two pairs from each tribe, and one solo member will traverse a mud obstacle course to try and retrieve a flag. Once having the flag, they must then run back to the start to deposit the flag in a bucket. The first tribe that is able to deposit a flag in their bucket scores a point. The first tribe to score three points wins. The last two tribes will then have one member traverse the mud obstacle course individually to retrieve their flag in a sudden death round. The first person to retrieve the flag for their tribe and deposit it into their bucket will wins for their tribe.
Reward: Comfort items and fire-making kit (1st place); tarp and flint (2nd place)

It had to be someone and it was you. ” Dante “ (voting against Ting Ting) It was not supposed to be you. So, unfortunately, this is where we are tonight. ” Ting Ting “ (voting against Cobus) I love you very much, but, what had to be done had to be done. And you should've brought the flint. But I have one thing to say: (waves hand) sideways. ” Meryl “ (voting against Ting Ting) You are like my little sister here on the island, and I'm really really sad to see you go but hopefully there are many memories ahead of us. Love you. ” Jacques “ (voting against Cobus) I'm not the weakest guy in the tribe. ” Cobus “ (voting against Ting Ting) Soz, girl. ”

Final Words

	Ting Ting	“	I'm really shocked that Jacques, who promised me he'll play the idol for me, turned on me. That's what Survivor can do. Paranoia, overthinking, those are your biggest enemies. I'm feeling so grateful, and this experience has just been amazing.	”
