To enable two-step authentication, open the Personal details page on the Stripe Dashboard. Find the Two-step authentication section, click Add authentication method and follow the prompts. We recommend enabling at least two methods to prevent account lockouts.

If you're a Stripe team administrator, you can require all team members to use two-step authentication on the Team settings page.

Authentication methods

Stripe supports these methods of two-step authentication:

• Text messaging (SMS)
• Authenticator apps
• Hardware security keys
• Windows Hello or Touch ID: Available only if another method is enabled first.

Having trouble authenticating?

• Sign in using your backup code or remove two-step authentication from your account.
• Update the phone number used for SMS two-step authentication.
