How to take a screenshot
To identify the cause of a problem, Kaspersky Customer Service engineers may ask you to send a screenshot of the error message or the settings window. Reproduce the issue so that the error message appears on the screen or open a requested window and take a screenshot.
How to take a screenshot on a Windows PC
Use the built-in Snipping Tool to take a screenshot.
Also, you can capture the whole screen using the Print Screen button:
- Press the Print Screen button on the keyboard.
- On some keyboards, the button name may be shortened to Prt Sc SysRq, Prt Scr, PrtSc.
- If you don’t have the Print Screen button on your keyboard, use the On-Screen keyboard.
- Run the Paint graphic editor.
- In the upper-left corner of the Paint window, select Edit →Paste or press the Ctrl+V combination on the keyboard.
- In the upper-left corner of the Paint window, select File and click Save as.
- Type the name for the file and save it in the .png or .jpg format.

Press the cmd (⌘)+shift+3 combination on the keyboard.
How to take a screenshot of a specific window
Press the cmd (⌘)+shift+4+Space bar combination on the keyboard.
How to take a screenshot of an arbitrary area
Press the cmd (⌘)+shift+4 combination on the keyboard and drag the mouse pointer to select the required area.
Where to find the screenshots
The images will be automatically saved to the Desktop in the .png format with unique names: Screen Shot [Date of creation] в [Time of creation].png.
How to take a screenshot on Android
Simultaneously press the volume down button and the Lock button.
The images you have taken will be available in Gallery.

How to transfer a screenshot from the phone to your PC
How to transfer a screenshot via a USB cable
- Open File Explorer on Windows (+E on the keyboard) or Finder on macOS ( in the Dock bar).
- Go to This PC on Windows or Computer on macOS.
- Using the USB cable, connect your phone to any available USB port on your computer.
The connected device will appear in the Devices and drives section on the computer. - Open the folder with photos on the connected device.
The folder name and location may vary from device to device. The most common folder path: /DCIM/Screenshots. - Once you found the necessary image, copy and paste it to your Desktop or any folder on the PC.
How to transfer a screenshot via Bluetooth
To a Windows PC:
- Turn on Bluetooth in settings of your phone.
- Pair the phone and your PC via Bluetooth using the instructions.
- On your mobile phone, open Gallery or Photos.
- Tap and hold the image you need for a while.
- Select Share or Send → Send file via Bluetooth or Bluetooth.
- Accept and receive the file on your PC and save it in any location or on the Desktop. Use these instructions.

How to transfer a screenshot via email
- On your mobile, open an email app or its web version.
- Create a new letter.
- In the To field, type your email address.
- Attach the image to the letter from Gallery or Photos. To do this, click the icon (or a similar one) and select the screenshot you need.
- Send the letter.
- Open your email on the PC.
- Find the letter you sent and download the attached image.
