From Google Voice, you can call or send text messages to the contacts on your device. You can also add new contacts.
Call or message someone
You can call or send text messages to your contacts.
- On your Android device, open the Voice app .
- At the bottom, tap Contacts .
- In the list, tap a contact.
- Next to the person's phone number, tap Call or Message .
Add a contact in Google Voice
- Open the Voice app .
- At the bottom, tap Contacts .
- At the top, tap Add new contact.
- Enter the contactâs information. Choose an option:
- To change the account where you want to save the contact, next to your email account, tap Down .
- To add more name details, next to First name, tap Down .
- To add a photo, tap Edit photo .
- To enter more information, like a street address or notes, tap More fields.
- Tap Done or Save.
After you add a contact, it can take a few minutes to appear in your contacts list. Contacts added in Google Voice will sync with Google Contacts and all your Android devices, but iPhone and iPad address books can't sync with Contacts.
Tip: Touch and hold a phone number to copy and edit the number into your contacts.
Edit a contact
- On your Android device, open the Voice app .
- At the bottom, tap Contacts .
- Tap the contact you want to edit.
- Tap More Edit contact.
- Edit the contactâs information.
- To enter more information, tap More fields or Down .
- To change the photo for a contact, tap Edit photo , then select an option.
- Tap Done or Save.
Delete a contact
To delete a contact, use the Contacts app on your Android device.
