Tips for understanding this policy

Inventory Value: Google-served Ads On Screens With Replicated Content | Google Publisher Policies

Google-served ads may not be placed on screens with replicated content, which refers to content that has been copied from other websites and published on your own website without adding any value by curation or providing commentary. Publishers who publish articles from other sources, and publish them as their own are in violation of this policy.

Examples of unacceptable replicated content including, but are not limited to:

  • Mirroring, framing, scraping or rewriting of content from other sources without adding value;
  • Automatically generated content without manual review or curation;
  • Sites that copy and republish content from other sites without adding any original content or value
  • Sites that copy content from other sites, modify it slightly (for example, by substituting synonyms or using automated techniques), and republish it
  • Sites dedicated to embedding content such as video, images, or other media from other sites without substantial added value to the user

A publisher’s content is the reason users visit or use a publisher’s site or app, whether they are looking for the latest information on a particular topic or want to know more about an area of interest. By providing users with the information they’re looking for, publishers are satisfying their needs in that moment.

Be careful when using external resources such as external articles or embedded videos. It's important that you contribute your own original content, whether it's specialist knowledge, improvement ideas, reviews, or your personal thoughts.
