How Scam Detection works

Important: Not all scam calls can be detected. Scam Detection is not 100% accurate and scammers constantly change their tactics. Always use caution when you answer calls from unknown numbers.

Scam Detection is based on the corpus of knowledge about how scammers scam victims.

  • For Pixel 9 devices: Scam Detection is powered by Gemini Nano on-device.
  • For earlier devices: Scam Detection uses Google’s on-device machine learning models.
