Insert a SIM card into a Nexus device

To connect your device to a mobile network, you need to insert a SIM card. If no card is installed, you’ll see a message that says “No SIM card.”

How to get a SIM card

If you don’t have a SIM card for your device, contact your mobile service provider. In addition to providing you a SIM card, they should activate your SIM card so that you can start using it right away. To find out what kind of SIM card you need, see the directions for your device below.
