When you buy or rent a movie through a Google TV device or the Google TV app on an Android device, itâs added to your library. You can watch movies and shows in your library across many devices. You can also share eligible titles with up to 5 family members through your Family Library.
Rent or buy a movie
On a Google TV device
- Search for the title you want to rent or buy.
- Open the titleâs details page.
- At the bottom, youâll find the number of âways to watch.â
- Choose if you want to rent or buy the content.
In the Google TV app
- Search or browse for the title you want to rent or buy.
- Open the titleâs details page.
- Tap the Down arrow Google TV .
- Tap Rent or Buy.
Tips:
- When you rent or buy a video with Google TV, it's added to the library of the account used to make the purchase. Learn where else you can watch your content.
- If you want to buy a movie after you rent it, you have to wait until the rental expires. You canât apply the cost of the rental to the purchase.
Watch previously purchased content
Important:
- If you previously purchased content from Google Play Movies & TV, YouTube, Android TV, or Google TV, you can find it in your Library.
- Newly purchased TV shows from YouTube are only available in your YouTube library.
On a Google TV device
- From the Google TV home screen, select Library.
- You can find your movies and shows in different sections.
In the Google TV app
- Open the Google TV app .
- Tap Your stuff Library.
Most rental periods last for 30 days from your purchase date or 48 hours after you start watching, whichever comes first. You can watch the movie as many times as you want before your rental expires.
