You can share a specific prompt and response or an entire chat. To do this, create a public link and then share it, like in a messaging app, or post it on your favorite social platforms.
Important:
- Users with a work or school account that has Gemini Advanced. To share information from a Gemini response, you can export responses.
- If you choose to share a chat, anyone with the link can read the chat, reshare it with others, and, except for chats created with Gems, continue the chat with Gemini Apps on their own. Also, do not enter confidential information in your conversations or any data you wouldnât want a reviewer to see or Google to use to improve our products, services, and machine-learning technologies. When you share a chat, remember that you agreed to Google's Terms of Service, including the Prohibited Use Policy. Be sure not to violate others' copyright or privacy rights.
Share a chat
Important: When you share a chat, it creates a public link to that chat. Anyone with the link can read the chat, even if you didnât share the link with them directly. Learn about what happens when you create a public link.
To share a chat on gemini.google.com:
- Below a response you want to share, click Share & export Share .
- Select what you want to share: This prompt & response or Entire chat.

If you upload an image to a chat and then share the chat, the image is visible and downloadable from the shared chat.

- Click Create public link.
- Choose how you want to share:
- To share the link: At the top, next to the
g.co/gemini/share
link, click Copy public link . Then paste it where you want to share, like in a messaging app, an email draft, or a forum thread. - To share on an available social platform: At the bottom, click the social platform and follow the on-screen instructions.
- To share the link: At the top, next to the
You wonât be able to share a chat if any part of the response or chat you want to share was generated using Google Workspace.
Continue a chat
Important: For now, this feature isnât available to users under 18.
When you open a public link to someone elseâs shared chat, you can continue that chat with Gemini Apps on your own. If your Gemini Apps Activity is on, the shared chat will be stored in your Gemini Apps Activity. Learn how to manage and delete your Gemini Apps activity.
- Click the public link.
- At the bottom, click Continue this chat.
- If the chat was created with Gemini Advanced, you can continue it only if you have subscribed to Gemini Advanced. Learn more about Gemini Advanced.
Reshare a chat
- Click the public link.
- Near the top, next to the
g.co/gemini/share
link, click Copy public link . - Paste the link where you want to share it, like in a messaging app, an email draft, or a forum thread.
Report a shared chat
- Click the public link.
- Below the headline, click Report .
Delete a public link
You can delete a public link that you created. Learn what happens when you delete a link.
- On your computer, go to gemini.google.com.
- At the bottom, click Settings Your public links .
- At the end of the public link that you want to delete, click Delete public link .
Tip: To delete all your public links, click Delete all links.
What happens when you create a public link
- A shared chat page with a public link is created. For example,
g.co/gemini/share/abcxyz
. - We donât add your name or account to the URL address or the shared chat page.
- The shared chat page shows the chat as it appeared when you created the public link. If you edit or continue the chat after you create a public link, the content on the shared chat page wonât change.
- If you share a chat that was created with Gems, the Gem name will be included with the chat. You can choose to also include the instructions used to create the Gem. Learn more about Gems in Gemini Apps.
- Anyone with the link can:
- Read the chat, even if you didnât share the link with them directly.
- Reshare the chat.
- Continue the chat with Gemini Apps on their own (except for a chat that was created with Gems or for users under the age of 18). If their Gemini Apps Activity is on, the chat is stored in their Gemini Apps Activity with their Google Account.
What happens when you delete a public link
If you delete a public link:
- Anyone who tries to access the link will get a message that the chat no longer exists and will be redirected to gemini.google.com.
- It doesn't delete any posts with the link that you've made on third-party sites. To delete the post, delete it from the third party site.
- It doesnât delete the chat from your Gemini Apps Activity. Learn how to manage & delete your Gemini Apps activity.
- It doesnât delete the chat from otherâs Gemini Apps Activity if they continue your shared chat in Gemini Apps on their own.
When your public links are deleted
By default, your public links are deleted 6 months after they're created. However, if any part of a chat in a public link is deleted earlier, the public link is also deleted. Part of a chat could be deleted in these ways:
- You manually delete it from Your Gemini Apps Activity.
- Itâs automatically deleted from Your Gemini Apps Activity.
- You delete it from your pinned and recent chats.
