The Fitbit app delivers a personalized experience to give you a deeper understanding of your stats and progress while providing insights to help you reach your goals. Customize the app to get the stats that matter most to you. Note: Older versions of the Fitbit app (from 3.00 to 3.90 and from 4.00 to 4.21) may experience issues after September 30, 2024. Youâll need to update to the latest version (4.22 or higher). In order to update to newer versions of the app, use a compatible iPhone or Android device.

The Fitbit app contains all the information youâre familiar with from fitbit.com, and more. The Fitbit app features 3 tabs: Today, Coach, and You.
- The Today tab is where youâll find all your daily stats, similar to the fitbit.com dashboard. Just like the dashboard, you can rearrange the tiles and choose whatâs most important to you. For more information, refer to How do I add or remove tiles on the Today tab?
- The Coach tab is exclusive to the Fitbit app. It provides workout videos and mindfulness sessions to keep you motivated and inspired.
- The You tab includes information youâre familiar with from fitbit.com profile page. Here, youâll get your membership details, navigate to the Fitbit community, browse available health assessments, adjust your goals, and find your badges.
At the top of all the tabs, there are 3 icons:
- The device icon is where youâll have all your connected Fitbit devices and adjust device-specific settings, similar to the device icon on fitbit.com .
- The message icon is where youâll find messages and notifications.
- Your profile picture or settings icon (depending on whether you sign with a Google account or Fitbit login) in the top-right is where youâll adjust settings related to your account and the Fitbit app.

The fitbit.com dashboard is available in the Fitbit app which you can download on the Google Play Store and Apple App Store. The browser will no longer offer access to the fitbit.com dashboard after July 2024, but all your details and details for activities, nutrition, sleep, and weight continue to be available in the Fitbit app. You can also export your GPS data, community data, or an archive of your active account data. Note: Even with this change, no historical data will be deleted. All your data will be kept under your account.

How to get social and set goals in the You tab |
You Youâre a blend of a thousand thingsâwe keep it all in one place called You. Here, you can update your personal details, adjust your goals, manage connections with friends and family and track your achievements. |
To add or hide stat tiles:
- On the Today tab , tap the pencil tile .
- To add a stat tile, swipe down and find the stat you want to add tap Add. To hide a stat tile, tap the X icon on the stat you want to remove.
- Tap Done.
Download and install the Fitbit app from one of the following locations:
- Apple devicesâApple App Store
- Android devicesâGoogle Play Store
To make sure you can use the Fitbit app on your phone or tablet, check Fitbit-compatible devices.
Note: Customers in China can download the Fitbit app on Android phones from the Huawei and Xiaomi app stores. If you use the Fitbit app for China, you wonât receive Fitbit app updates.
- Open the App Store app.
- Tap your profile picture.
- Scroll down to check if an update is available for the Fitbit app (under Available updates or Upcoming automatic updates).
- Tap Update.
If your apps update automatically, check Updated recently to know if the Fitbit app was updated recently.
- Open the Play Store app.
- Tap the menu icon.
- Tap My apps & games. If the Fitbit app has an update, it will be shown in the Updates list.
- Tap Update.
If your apps update automatically, check the Recently updated or Up to date list to check if the Fitbit app was updated.
To check which version of the Fitbit app you have, tap the Today tab your profile picture Help. The app version is at the top.
- Tap the Today tab, and tap the icon next to the stat you want to log.
- Add your information, and tap Save.

How do I participate in the Fitbit Community?

How do I check my messages and notifications in the Fitbit app?
To check your messages and notifications, tap Inbox Notifications or Messages. For more information, refer to What should I know about groups in the Fitbit Community?
To make sure your Fitbit device syncs and receives notifications from your Android phone, make sure the Fitbit app can run in the background on your phone and allow the Fitbit app to access your location. You can also add Fitbit widgets to help you quickly log stats and track goal progress from your Android phoneâs home screen.

Use the Fitbit app to log your food, activities, weight, and more, without owning a Fitbit device. Manually enter activities to get an estimated calorie burn based on your personal information, such as height, weight, age, and sex. For certain phones, use MobileTrack and MobileRun to track steps and activities with your phone.
