Weigh yourself with a Fitbit Aria series scale and sync with the Fitbit app to track your weight data and trends over time.
Set up your Fitbit scale with the Fitbit app for iPhones and iPads or Android phones. For more information, check How do I set up my Fitbit device?

If you're unsure which scale you own, turn the scale over and remove the battery cover to check how many batteries it contains:
- Aria uses 4 AA batteries
- Aria 2 uses 3 AA batteries and has âAria 2â written on the back of the scale
- Aria Air uses 3 AAA batteries.

For Aria 2, you can also check your BMI on the scale:
- From the Today tab , tap the devices icon Aria 2Users your name.
- Choose to show body fat percentage and BMI on your scale. The next time you weigh in and the scale syncs, the settings are saved.

Aria and Aria 2 have two modes to calculate body fat percentage. The default is âregularâ mode, which applies to most people. âLeanâ mode is intended for professional or very high-level athletes with exceptionally low body fat relative to their muscle mass.
Note that Aria Air doesn't calculate body fat percentage.
If your scaleâs current mode appears to give you an incorrect body fat percentage reading, try switching modes:
- From the Today tab , tap the devices icon .
- Tap your scale Users your name.
- Turn Lean Mode on or off. The next time you weigh in and the scale syncs, the mode switches and your body fat percentage is calculated with the mode you selected.
- On the Fitbit settings page, click your scale under the Devices menu.
- In the People section, click your name.
- Choose the appropriate mode. The next time you weigh in and the scale syncs, the mode switches and your body fat percentage is calculated with the mode you selected.

- From the Today tab , tap the devices icon your scale image.
- On iPhones and iPads, tap People Using This ScaleInvite More People. On Android phones, tap Users tap the + icon.
- Choose from the list of your Fitbit friends or enter an email address, then tap the add user button .
- On the Fitbit settings page, click your scale under the Devices menu.
- Click the pink Invite People button, then enter the email address of the person you want to add to the scale. If that person has a Fitbit account, use the email address that they use with Fitbit.
- From the Today tab , tap the devices icon your scale image.
- Tap People Using This Scale or Users.
- Tap the person you want to remove.
- Tap Remove From Scale.
- On the Fitbit settings page, click your scale under the Devices menu.
- In the People section, click the trash can icon next to the person you want to remove from the scale.
Aria and Aria 2 measure body mass using bioimpedance analysis, which sends a small electric signal through the body. Donât use Aria or Aria 2 if you have an implanted medical device such as a pacemaker, or if youâre pregnant. Consult your doctor if you have any questions about using these devices.
Aria Air doesnât use bioimpedance analysis and there are no restrictions on use if you are pregnant or have an implanted medical device.
Your scale might not be linked to your account in the Fitbit app, or it might be assigning your weigh-ins to a guest. Follow the instructions in Why is my Fitbit scale recognizing me as a guest? to check whether your scale is correctly linked to your Fitbit account and your personal information is accurate.
If Aria or Aria 2 reads GUEST when you weigh yourself, verify that your scale is linked to your Fitbit account and that your Fitbit profile information is correct.
Aria 2 may assign your weigh-in to a guest when your measurements are similar to another user and the scale is unsure how to assign the weigh-in. When this happens, the scale shows an icon like the one below:
If the user icon shown is yours, tap the right side of the scale with your foot. If the user icon is not yours, tap the left side of the scale. If you do nothing, the weigh-in is assigned to a guest.
Note that for Fitbit Aria Air, if you saved a guest's weigh-in to your Fitbit account, you can delete the weight log. For more information, check How do I add, edit, or delete Fitbit data and activities?
If you don't find your scale listed, your scale isn't linked to your Fitbit account. Follow the instructions in How do I set up my Fitbit device? to link your scale.
For Aria Air, make sure you have the Fitbit app open on your nearby phone when you complete a weigh-in.
- From the Today tab , tap the devices icon your name.
- Tap Personal Stats and verify that your height and weight are correct.
- Weigh yourself 3 times to verify that your scale recognizes you.
- On the Fitbit settings page, verify that your height and weight are correct, then click Submit.

- From the Today tab , tap the devices icon your scale tile.
- Tap Recent Weigh-Ins.
- Tap the weigh-in you want to reassign.
- Reassign the weigh-in to the correct person.
Reconnect Aria or Aria 2 to your wireless network if you make changes to your network name, network provider, network password, or router.
Note that these instructions don't apply to Fitbit Aria Air.
- In a web browser, visit fitbit.com/scale/setup/start and click Get Started.
- Enter a name for your scale and your initials.
- When prompted, put your scale into setup mode by removing a battery from your scale, waiting 10 seconds, and then reinserting the battery.
- Your scale will show "Wi-Fi is (your network name)" followed by "Tap to change." With the palms of your hands, press down firmly and briefly (less than a second) on the lower two corners of the scale. You should find the message "Setup active" on your scale's screen. Note: If the screen is blank, you'll find the message "Step on," or if the message âTap to changeâ scrolls across the scaleâs screen, take out and reinsert a battery, then repeat the setup process.
- After you find the message âSetup Active,â follow the instructions in your web browser to complete the setup process.
- With your scale and Wi-Fi router nearby, open the Fitbit app on your phone.
- From the Today tab , tap the devices icon Aria 2.
- Tap Wi-Fi Network or Pair Scale to Different Network.
- Tap Next and follow the on-screen instructions to reconnect your scale to your network.
- From the Today tab , tap the devices icon .
- Check the battery icon next to the name of your scale. The battery level is accurate as of the last sync.
If your scale's battery level is low, replace the batteries. If the battery level isn't low, remove the batteries for at least 10 seconds and reinsert them.
If your scale doesn't turn on after replacing the batteries, contact Customer Support.

This error occurs most commonly when the network password is entered incorrectly or the router was not properly set up. It could also be due to a network firewall, MAC filtering, or the use of network extenders or repeaters. Verify that your password is correct and that your router is set to allow for the required 802.11b connection. If you need assistance verifying your router's configuration, consult your router's manual or contact your internet provider. Before you try to set up your scale again, we recommend the following:
