    1. On your Android device, open your device's Settings Settings
    2. Tap Wi-Fi and then Settings Settings.
    3. Turn on Keep Wi-Fi on during sleep.

Try more fixes

If you need more tips, try these:

Turn on Duo notifications

Check that notifications aren't blocked in both these places:

  • Your device settings: Open your device's Settings Settings  and then Apps & notifications  and then Duo and then App notifications, and then check that notifications are on.
  • In the app: Open Duo and then More More and then Notifications and then Turn on Call notifications.
Check blocked numbers
Check that the phone number isn't blocked.
  1. On your Android device, open Duo and then More options More and then Settings and then Blocked numbers.
  2. Check that the phone number isn't listed.
Avoid using "Force stop"

If you've used "Force stop" to stop the Duo app when it wasn't working, you'll need to re-open the app to get notifications from it.

  1. Go to your list of apps.
  2. Tap Duo to open.
Allow Duo to work in the background

Check that background data is on for Duo and Google Play services.

  1. On your Android device, open your device's Settings Settings
  2. Tap Apps and then Duo and then Data usage.
  3. Turn on Background data.
  4. Repeat the above steps for Google Play services.
Turn off "Battery Saver" mode

Battery saver can block Duo from sending notifications. Learn how to turn off battery saver.

Apps not made by Google, like Juice Defender or Antivirus, may not allow notifications to work. Other manufacturers may have their own battery saver modes to check:

  • Sony: Try disabling “Stamina” mode.
  • Huawei: Mark Duo as a protected app through Energy Saver  and then Protected Apps.
  • Xiaomi/MIUI: Check that the power saving modes are off. Also, open the security app and then Permissions and then Add Duo to Autostart. Start the Task Manager, find Duo, and drag it downwards until the padlock icon appears.
