You can see all your My Maps in Google Drive, both those you created and those shared with you. Use Drive's features to manage your maps.
Create or open a mapTo create a map in Google Drive:
- Make sure you're signed in to your Google Account.
- Open Google Drive.
- Click New More Google My Maps.
To open a map youâve already created in My Maps:
- Open Google Drive.
- Click My Drive.
- Double click the map you want to open.
To delete a map in Google Drive:
- Open Google Drive.
- Find your map and click it once.
- In the top right, click Remove .
If you delete a map, itâs moved to the Trash folder in Drive, where you can permanently delete it or restore it later. Your map will still appear in My Maps until you permanently delete it from the Trash.
From Google Drive, you can set sharing options for your maps. Any changes you make to sharing settings in Drive are automatically reflected in My Maps.
- Open Google Drive.
- Find your map and click it once.
- In the toolbar at the top of the page, click Share .
- Type the email addresses of the people you want to share with in the text box below "Invite people." You can add a single person, a mailing list, or choose from your contacts.
- Choose the access level from the drop-down menu: Can view or Can edit. (You'll also see the Can comment option; for maps, this option works just like Can view.)
If you change a mapâs title or description in Google Drive, those changes are automatically reflected in My Maps, and vice versa.
- Open Google Drive.
- Find your map and click it once.
- To change the title, click More actions . Then choose Rename.
- To change the description, click More actions . Then choose View details.
Use Google Drive to keep your maps organized and easy to find. For example, you could put all of your vacation maps in one folder. If you've created many maps and want to open a specific map quickly, just enter any text in the mapâs title in the search box.

If you delete a map from My Maps or from Google Drive, itâs moved to the Trash folder in Drive. To permanently delete (or restore) a trashed map, open Google Drive and locate the map in the Trash folder.

- Storage: Your maps donât use any of your storage quota for Google Drive.
- Offline sync: Your maps are available only in Google Drive on the web. You canât get to them offline.
- Open the Google Drive app.
- Find your map.
- Click it once.
- You can view the map in your phone browser.
- Open the Google Drive app.
- Find your map.
- To the right of the map file, select .
- Click Remove.
