To create cover images for your document with Gemini in Docs, you can use the âHelp me create an imageâ option. For example, you can request Docs to create a âJoyful illustration of a desk with a laptop, coffee cup, and plants in front of a window with sunshine pouring in.â
Use Gemini to create an image
- On your computer, open a document in Google Docs.
- Click the document where you want to add the image.
- At the top, click Insert Image Help me create an image .
- In the panel on the right, enter a prompt. For example:
- "A beautiful photograph of a Hawaiian beach at sunset with palm trees in the distance"
- "A plate of freshly baked blueberry muffins on a wooden kitchen table next to a large window"
- "Watercolor painting of hydrangeas in a water pitcher"
- "A futuristic cityscape with skyscrapers and flying cars set at night with HD details and shadows"
Tips:
- For better results, consider the subject, setting, distance to subject, materials, or background. For example: "A close up of a boat made out of wood on a lake surrounded by trees at sunrise."
- Avoid figurative language in your prompt.
- To get several suggested images, click Create.
- Optional: After you click âCreate,â you can:
- Send feedback about the suggested image: Under each image, click Good suggestion or Bad suggestion .
- Edit your prompt: At the top of the panel on the right, you can:
- Click the prompt.
- Edit your prompt.
- Click Create.
- See more suggested images: Click View more.
- To insert an image, click on it.
Use Gemini to create a cover image
Important: Cover images are only available in Pageless mode. When you change your document to Pages mode, the cover image is hidden.
- On your computer, open a new document in Google Docs.
- To insert a cover image you can either:
- At the top, click Insert Cover Image Help me create an image .
- In your document:
- Enter:
@cover image
. - Click Cover image Help me create an image .
- Enter:
- In the panel on the right, enter a prompt.
- For example, "A top-down view of a white desk with neatly arranged sticky notes, a pen, pencil, notebook, and potted plant."
- Optional: To customize the image you create:
- Click Add a style.
- Select the preferred style.
- Click Create.
- To add the image to your document, click an image from the gallery or click View more.
- Optional: After you generate a cover image, select the cover image. To:
- Replace image: Click Replace image .
- Reposition: Click Reposition .
- Find alt text: Click Alt text .
- Delete: Click Delete .
- Optional: After you generate an image, in the panel you can:
- Send feedback about the suggested image: Under each image, click Good suggestion or Bad suggestion .
- Edit your prompt: At the top of the panel, you can:
- Click the prompt.
- Edit your prompt.
- Click Create.
- To find more suggested images: Click View more.
Tip: You can also insert cover images from your computer or a stock gallery. Learn how to add a cover image.
Give feedback on a generated image
Gemini for Google Workspace constantly learns and may not be able to support your request.
If you get a suggestion thatâs inaccurate or that you feel is unsafe, you can submit a feedback.
- Below the generated image, click Good suggestion or Bad suggestion .
- If you click Bad suggestion :
- Select the issue you found.
- Enter additional feedback.
- Click Submit.
