Fix issues with saved payment info & passwords

You can save your contact, payment, and sign-in info to Chrome. If something doesn't work when you let Chrome remember your info, try these fixes.

Fix issues with passwords

You can save or delete your passwords in Chrome. Learn more about how to manage saved passwords.

Chrome doesnâ€™t offer to save your passwords

You can save your password to Chrome even if you aren't automatically asked to when you fill out a form.

On your computer, open Chrome.
Enter your info on the website you want to save the password for.
To the right of the address bar, select Password Save.

If you don't find the Key icon, delete your password and try to sign in again.

Edit or delete your saved passwords

On your computer, open Chrome.
At the top right, select Profile Passwords .
To edit or delete a saved password, select More Remove or Edit password.

Stop Chrome from offering to save your passwords

On your computer, open Chrome.
At the top right, click Profile Passwords .
On the left, click Settings.
Turn Offer to save passwords off.

Chrome doesn't suggest your saved passwords

Click on the text field for your password. You'll see a list of suggestions based on your saved info.

If you still don't see suggestions, Chrome might not be able to detect the right fields on the website.

You can look up your saved info by following these steps:

On your computer, open Chrome.
At the top right, click Profile Passwords .
To the right of the website, click Preview .

Fix issues with payment & contact info

You can save, edit, or delete your payment info in Chrome.

Chrome doesn't offer to save your payment or address info

If youâ€™re signed-in to Chrome, you can use your card by adding it to Google Pay:

Go to pay.google.com.
Add your info:
- Payment method: Select Payment Methods Add payment methods.
- Address: Select Address Add addresses.

You can also add your payment info so it's only saved on your device, and you will not find your saved payment info on other devices. Learn more about how to add, edit and delete cards in Chrome.

Add or change payment info youâ€™ve saved in Chrome

On your computer, open Chrome.
At the top right, select Profile Payment methods or Addresses and more .
Add, edit, or delete info:
- Add: Next to "Payment methods" or "Addresses," select Add.
- Edit: Next to the card or address, select More Edit.
- Delete: Next to the card or address, select More Delete.

If you add, edit, or delete an address and youâ€™re signed in to Chrome with your Google Account, your changes show up on your other devices where youâ€™re signed in to Chrome with the same account.

Edit your saved payment info

If your saved payment info isnâ€™t right, you can edit your info in Chrome.

On your computer, open Chrome.
At the top right, select Profile Payment methods or Addresses and more .
To the right of an incorrect item, select More Edit.

If your payment method is saved in Google Pay, you may have to link out to Google pay or change your info at pay.google.com.

Stop Chrome from offering to save your payment info

If you don't want to ever save your info to Chrome, you can turn off the prompt:

On your computer, open Chrome.
At the top right, click Profile Payment methods .
Turn off Save and fill payment methods.

Chrome doesn't suggest your saved payment methods

Click on the text field for your payment method. You'll see a list of suggestions based on your saved info.

If you still don't see suggestions, Chrome might not be able to detect the right fields on the website.

On your computer, open Chrome.
At the top right, click Profile Payment methods .

Fix payment errors

If youâ€™re having issues buying something online, it could be an issue with your card or the site.

Unrecognized $0 or $1 charge on your credit card

Google Pay confirms that your credit card is valid with a temporary $0 or $1 charge. It will disappear after 1 to 7 business days, depending on your bank.

â€GOOGLE *TEMPORARY HOLDâ€ appears on my card statement

When you automatically enter or save a card in Chrome, Google may do a low-value credit card authorization. This is a security measure to make sure that youâ€™re the legitimate owner of the card. The authorization is canceled by Google shortly.

"Login not secure" or "Payment not secure" error

If you see a "Login not secure" or "Payment not secure" message, look at the security status:

Not secure: We suggest that you don't enter sensitive details, like passwords or credit cards. You can try to visit a more secure version of the site.
Dangerous: We suggest you don't enter any private or personal information on this page. If possible, don't use the site. Learn more about dangerous sites.
