Choose basic details for your placement here.
Placement nameThe name you choose here identifies your placement in Campaign Manager 360 and in your reports. You can change your placement name at any time, but the placement ID will always stay the same.
This is the site your placement will appear on. The site you choose when you first create your placement cannot be changed afterward.
Compatibility determines which creatives and ads you can assign to your placement. Campaign Manager 360 makes sure that all the creatives in your ads work in the placement environment. Learn more
You can only set duration for in-stream video placements.
The duration will specify the required amount of time (i.e. 15 seconds) a video ad will play. When a duration is set on a placement, any assigned creatives with a different duration wonât serve.
You can filter or assign any creatives with unique duration and orientation requirements to the same default ad.
You can only set orientation for in-stream video placements.
Placements can support multiple duration and orientation combinations. Ads that are assigned to your placement must have at least one creative of each duration-orientation combination you choose here.
Refine which orientations are included in your placements by selecting between portrait and landscape for your creatives. When an orientation is set on a placement, any assigned creatives with a different orientation wonât serve. For example, if you choose a duration of 30 seconds and landscape orientation, you can only assign creatives with a 30 second/landscape duration-orientation requirement and no other ads will be served to that placement. You will need to have at least one creative with that orientation associated with the placement.
An Agency payment source means that the agency will bear the ad serving costs associated with ads delivered to the placement. A Publisher source means Google will bill the publisher directly for the ad serving costs.
You cannot download tags for a publisher-paid placement. Instead, you use Campaign Manager 360 to make the tags available to publishers through their own tag system. The publisher must approve payment to access the tags. Learn more about publisher-paid placements
Placements can support multiple dimensions. Ads that are assigned to your placement must have at least one creative of each dimension you choose here.
The list of available dimensions includes all dimensions that have been specified in your account. If the dimensions you need are not available in the dropdown, enter them in the search box and hit the RETURN key. Not every site will accept every available size, so it is important to coordinate with the site during the planning phase to determine the dimensions that your placements will use.
If you want to add your placement to a package or roadblock, choose it here. You can edit the placement and set the Placement group at any time. (This option is only available if you've already created packages or roadblocks.)
Placements have three possible states:
-
An active placement is a serving placement that can export tags for ad assignments. Placements with this state are always visible in your campaign.
-
An inactive placement is a deactivated placement that is no longer serving. Inactivating a placement doesn't stop the impression from serving in the following conditions:
- An active creative or line item is still assigned to the placement.
- The Campaign Manager 360 tag has been trafficked outside Display & Video 360/Campaign Manager 360.
-
An archived placement is a placement that can no longer serve. Clicking the placement link enables you to review the placement details.
Note: An archived placement is not shown in your campaign unless you set your filters to show All or Archived or it has active ads or creatives assigned to it. You can unarchive a placement by setting its status to active. You won't be able to unarchive a placement after 60 days.
You can change the status of your placements by using the drop-down menu to select the new state.
The SSL field indicates whether your placement is SSL-compliant (https).
-
Compliant: SSL-compliant placements do not have any non-compliant ads or creatives assigned. All assigned ads and creatives are SSL-compliant. These placements export secure tags (https).
-
Not compliant: Non-compliant placements have one or more non-compliant ads or creatives assigned. These placements automatically export non-secure (http) placement tags.
To make items compliant, make sure they do not use any non-secure URLs in their creative code, impression pixels, survey URLs, impression event tags, or redirect URLs in redirect creatives. Learn more
