The SX-21 pump-action scatter blaster,[3] also known as the SX-21 scatterblaster,[2] or the SX-21 blaster rifle, was a model of pump-action scatter blaster rifle made by Merr-Sonn Munitions, Inc., and proved invaluable to Imperial mudtroopers during the heavy fighting with the Mimbanese during the Mimban Campaign.[1]

Chewbacca used an SX-21 after he escaped Imperial captivity, using the rifle as a temporary substitute for the bowcaster favored by Wookiees.[1] Orbak Marauder mercenaries commonly utilized SX-21 scatter blasters while riding their Orbaks when employed by both the Alliance to Restore the Republic and Galactic Empire.[5]
