- "There was a global election on Kath II. Notable only for the fact that not a single human was elected to office, although fully one third of Kath's population is human. The Diversity Alliance was campaigning heavily there."

Kath II, also known as Kath, was an ocean-covered world located in the Dustig sector of the Mid Rim. It was the homeworld of the Kath species.
Description[]
Kath II, also referred to simply as Kath,[4] was a terrestrial world[3] located in the Kath system, a part of the Dustig sector[1] in the Trailing Sectors portion of[2] the Mid Rim.[1]
Kath II was the starting point of the Dustig Trace, a short but useful route within the Dustig sector, that passed through Malastare before ending at Demos Four.[2] Kath II was situated on the general route between the planets of Kuar,[4] in the Deep Core,[1] and Shumavar,[4] in the Atravis sector of the Outer Rim Territories.[1]
Kath II was an ocean-covered world that featured oceanic trenches, such as the Karm Trenches. It was the homeworld of the Kath, a reptilian sentient species.[3] In 24 ABY,[5] one third of the world's population was Human.[4]
History[]
Kath II was located in an area of space that was explored between 5000 BBY and 3000 BBY.[2]
During the Galactic Civil War, at some point between 2 BBY and 2 ABY, the Galactic Empire subjugated Kath II. During the battle, many forces of the Rebel Alliance took up positions within the Karm Trenches. The Kath subjugation saw a particularly heavy use by Imperial forces of the Aquadon CAVa 400, a personal aquatic combat vehicle derived from the CAVw PX-10.[3] The subjugation of Kath II led to extensive civilian casualties.[2]
In 24 ABY,[5] the Diversity Alliance, an anti-Human terrorist group, campaigned heavily on Kath II. As a result, not a single Human was elected to office after a global election on Kath II, despite the fact that Humans constituted one third of the world's population.[4]
Behind the scenes[]
The world of Kath and the Kath species were created by Bill Smith in Alliance Intelligence Reports, a 1995 supplement to West End Games' Star Wars: The Roleplaying Game.[3] The world was later mentioned and identified as Kath II in Young Jedi Knights: Diversity Alliance, a 1997 young-adult novel co-authored by Kevin J. Anderson and Rebecca Moesta.[4]
