- Holotype: KU 43874, adult ♂, collected by E.H. Taylor on 3 September 1952.
- Type locality: “on low mountains, north of the Río Diquis, about 3 miles north of Palmar [Norte], [Cantón de Osa,] Puntarenas Province, Costa Rica”.
