Carolina "Caro" Andrea Ibarra (born May 6, 1980) is an Argentine actress and host. She has worked on a number of Disney projects and gained prominence as the host of Zapping Zone on Disney Channel. She portrays Ana on Soy Luna.

Life and History[]

Caro Ibarra grew up wanting to become a ballerina and studied at the Instituto Superior de Arte del Teatro Colón; she was classmates with the famed ballerina Paloma Herrera.[3] She only started studying theater at age 17.[3] In 2000, Ibarra became the host of the Disney Channel LA original production Zapping Zone with Dany Martins and later, Diego Sassi Alcalá and Clara Alonso.[4] The show was used to promote various Disney properties and featured a mix of games, news, and videos.[4] She left the show after 8 years to pursue her acting career.[3][5]

After Zapping Zone, Ibarra hosted Team Angels, a companion series to Casi ángeles that followed the musical group Teen Angels on tour.[3][6] She traveled to Madrid, Israel, and Venezuela with her co-host Gastón Vietto.[3][6] Then, she co-hosted the ecological program Recurso natural in 2010.[7] Since 2010, Ibarra has hosted the program La casa del pop on Quiero.[8][9] She has won a Premio Martín Fierro for her work on La casa del pop.[10]

While on Zapping Zone, Ibarra was given the opportunity to voice the babysitter in the Spanish dub of The Incredibles.[3] Since then, she has lent her voice to a number of Spanish dubs, such as Pecezuelos (Fish Hooks), Liv y Maddie, Little Chicken, Princesita Sofía (Sofia the First), and Cars.[11][12] As an actress, Ibarra was a part of the cast of High School Musical: El Desafío as Martha, the captain of the field hockey team.[13] She also had guest roles on Rebelde Way and Socias.[14] From 2016 to 2018, Ibarra starred as Ana on Soy Luna.

In 2011, 2012 and 2017, Ibarra performed in her own musical for children El mundo de Caro y Juanchi with Juan Macedonio.[15][16] The songs from the show were released as a soundtrack.[17] Also in 2012, Ibarra released an advice book for girls called Entre chicas.[18] In 2019, she joined the cast of Madagascar at the Teatro Colón.[19]

Ibarra is married to Argentine producer Emiliano Paris, whom she shares one son with, Camilo.[2]
