Isaac Bashevis Singer (Yiddish: יצחק באַשעװיס זינגער; November 11, 1903[1][2][3][4][5][6][7] – July 24, 1991) was a leading writer in Yiddish literature. He was a Jewish American who was born in Poland. He won the Nobel Prize in Literature in 1978. He also was vegetarian.
