Archenemy

An archenemy is the main enemy of someone. In a work of fiction the protagonist’s archenemy is an antagonist normally the antagonist that is hardest to defeat. If the protagonist is a hero then the archenemy will be a villain. A lot of comic book superheroes have supervillains as their archenemies.
